STOCK TRANSFER AGENT


TAXPAYER ID NUMBERS (EIN)

  • SECInfo.com: Search Edgar Database for SEC filings, which will contain the EIN.

  • FreeERISA: Can search for company names to find the EIN for Employee Benefit Trusts.

  • Guidestar: Contains IRS Form 990 images for nonprofit organizations.

  • For non-public companies try searching the company's website. Do a Google search limiting to the company's domain name, and use variation of the term "Employer Identification Number".

  • Judgment and Lien filings and UCC lien filings may contain an EIN number.

  • Commercial databases such as Lexis, Know-X.com and Dun and Bradstreet may provide the EIN for a fee. On Lexis, try Dun and Bradstreet Federal Employer ID Number Source, Combined Business and Corporate Information Source, Market Guide Company Profiles or Tax Analyst Exempt Organizations.

  • Lexis - Investext Reports All- INVLNU - reports on companies compiled by major brokerage firms. There are numerous Investext databases. Which database is appropriate may depend on the time frame, geographical area, product or company. The law library has access, but not on our "free" plan. Free to search, charges for looking at and downloading documents.
  • News articles may contain market share information.

  • Wetfeet.com: Company profiles for private and public companies.

  • Jobster: Employees answer questions about their company, and the answers are posted and searchable.

  • : Courtesy of the AFL-CIO, you can find out whether a particular company has laid off workers, exported jobs, has had unfair labor practices cases before the NLRB, or has safety violations.
